Tips for a Sweet Smile

With the popularity of selfies and instant photo sharing on the rise, having a camera-ready smile doesn’t hurt. However, with all of the coffee, wine, smoking and other foods that have the ability to stain our teeth on a daily basis, keeping our teeth their whitest is a lot harder than it sounds. Fortunately, at the dental practice of Dr. Keith Rudolph, DDS we can provide our patients with teeth whitening and bleaching services to give you a glowing grin. We also thought it might be helpful to offer you some tips on how to flash your pearly whites once your dream smile is achieved!

  • Be natural – when it’s picture time, smile gently. That way, your face looks relaxed. Your mouth opens slightly, and your lower lip matches the curve of your upper teeth.

  • Check your teeth and gums – getting your smile camera-ready sometimes calls for a little behind the scenes prep work. If your pearly whites have yellowed with age, try an over-the-counter whitening product or pay us a visit! Also, don’t forget about taking care of your gums. They play a critical role in your nice smile. So keep them in good shape by brushing, flossing, and rinsing with a mouthwash every day.

  • Practice – your perfect smile may not happen overnight, but if you have a big photo event like a wedding or a graduation coming up, it doesn’t hurt to try out your grin in front of the mirror!

How to Keep Your Teeth White and Bright

Keeping your teeth white can seem like a hassle. But when you know the right tips and tricks, it really is not difficult at all! Dr. Keith Rudolph, DDS wants to share some tips for keeping teeth white for our patients at our Fairfield, CT dental practice!

The first place to start for white teeth is what causes the stains. Dark foods and drinks like blueberries, coffee, wine, and soy sauce are common stain culprits. Avoiding these foods can sometimes be difficult, especially when they are your favorite, but rinsing you mouth after consumption of them can help. Also, using a straw to drink dark liquids will often allow the liquid to completely skip the front of your teeth.

When stain-causing substances do reach your teeth, it is important to brush it away. Plaque, the sticky bacterial film, forms only hours after brushing and traps in the stains close to your enamel. Brushing three times per day will be ideal to make sure the plaque is not contributing to the staining. Do not forget to floss, as well!

For patients who would like to get a kick-start on their whitening, Dr. Rudolph offers customized tray whitening. Over a short period of time, this teeth whitening system can result in teeth four to eight shades whiter!

Dr. Rudolph's Cosmetic Dentistry Specialties

Luminous pearly whites no longer have to be a dream. Dr. Keith Rudolph, DDS specializes in cosmetic dentistry and has been improving the smiles of his patients in the Fairfield, CT area one smile at a time. Whether you have discolored teeth, crooked teeth, cracked, gapped, or misaligned teeth, Dr. Rudolph has an option for you.

Veneers and Lumineers are similar options. They are both very thin ceramic shells that are bonded to the front of your existing teeth. They are long lasting, durable and instant aesthetic improvements for a variety of cosmetic issues.

Bonding is a process using composite resin to be shaped over the tooth to fix gaps, cracks, misalignment, and provide long lasting white teeth. This is an affordable and simple procedure for a fresh smile that can last over ten years.

Teeth whitening, one of the most-requested procedures currently, is most effective under dentist supervision. This is why we recommended using our custom tray whitening system. This take-home system is specifically created for your unique situation and can result in a smile four to eight shades whiter within a few days!

Straight teeth are sometimes a necessity, but are also on the cosmetic wish-list of many. For this reason, Dr. Rudolph provides his clients with Invisalign, the nearly invisible teeth straightening system. Now straight teeth are possible without the noticeable and irritating metal braces.

A brand-new smile is possible here with Dr. Keith Rudolph, DDS in Fairfield, CT. To schedule a consultation, call (203) 254-9533 or visit our website, www.drkeithrudolph.com

Teeth Whitening with Dr. Keith Rudolph

Keeping your teeth white can be a lot harder than you might think. Even with diligent brushing, flossing and dental cleanings, teeth can still lose their gleam. This is because your teeth are constantly in contact with the acid in food and drinks, which can cause them to become dull and stained despite proper oral care. However, surface staining is reversible, and teeth whitening services from our office in Fairfield, CT can help you restore the luster to your smile and help you achieve the megawatt smile you desire.

Teeth whitening services are becoming more and more popular, and as the demand for whiter teeth increases, patients are realizing that over-the-counter techniques just aren’t as effective as options offered by their dentist. Dr. Keith Rudolph offers the take-home tray system, an effective teeth whitening method that can give patients exceptional smiles in only a few sessions.

When providing these services, Dr. Rudolph will start by taking an impression of your teeth for crafting the custom whitening trays—trays that you will be able to use again and again. After the trays have been completed, you will be able to apply the gentle, whitening gel to the trays and wear them for a short period of time, usually around 40 to 60 minutes. After you have completed a few sessions spaced out over a couple of days, you should see your smile whiten by four to eight shades!

Whitening your teeth is an easy and dramatic way to improve the look of your smile. Call 203-930-1214 to schedule an appointment. For more information, please visit www.drkeithrudolph.com.

Whiten Your Teeth and Brighten Your Smile

Even with regular brushing, flossing and cleanings, keeping your teeth white can be harder than you think. Constant exposure to food and drinks can cause your teeth to become dull and stained even with proper oral care. Teeth whitening can help restore your teeth’s color and gleam, and at our office in Fairfield, CT, Dr. Keith Rudolph of Fairfield, CT can help you achieve a smile you can be proud of.

To help his patients get their whitest smiles, the dentist employs a tray whitening system. This system is completed in two steps. For the first step, the patient has an impression of their teeth taken. With this impression, whitening trays will be crafted to fit the patient’s teeth. These trays can be used over and over to maintain a white and healthy-looking smile. The second step of the whitening process involves placing whitening gel on the front portion of the tray on the section that will be in contact with the front of the patient’s teeth. It is important to not put too much gel in the tray since this could cause the gel to contact and irritate the patient’s gums. The trays can be used for short durations (between 30 minutes and an hour, depending on sensitivity) over the course of a few days. This process will lighten the teeth from four to 8 shades!

If you are looking to rejuvenate your smile, Dr. Keith Rudolph can help you achieve a megawatt smile with teeth whitening. To make up an appointment and see if this process is right for you, call 203-930-1214. For more information, visit www.drkeithrudolph.com.
